Studio 3 Arts promotes and delivers quality arts to empower local communities and address today's social issues. Working in the London Boroughs of Barking & Dagenham, Havering, Redbridge and Waltham Forest, Studio 3 Arts tailor-makes arts activity for all the community in partnership with key local, regional and national organisations.

Surface have worked with Studio 3 Arts for several years. We have been involved with a number of workshop based projects working alongside schools and community groups to develop projects and generate ideas. Surface is responsible for the 2011 Studio 3 Arts re-brand and website.

The Studio 3 Arts identity design attempts to encapsulate the organisation... dynamic, colourful and explosive. The new website features video clips and an online gallery of the organisation at work.

BODY MATTERZ

The brief was to 'package' a film that had been produced by a group of young people who employed their acting and musical skills to convey their message about issues surrounding obesity and diet. Using 'street style' comic characters to introduce each chapter we created a light hearted feel to a serious debate, making the subject matter approachable and exciting. The booklet and film are used as an educational tool in schools and workshops.

LAYING IT BARE

Booklet and website with advice and information about the issues surrounding teenage pregnancy. Produced in collaboration with GCSE students in Upminster and Dagenham the material is designed to dispel the myths and half truths whilst offering essential advice and contact information. The booklets are available in secondary schools in the London area.
